Final Week to Nominate for “Always Learning Awards”

Six years ago the Avon Maitland Board of Trustees introduced the "Key Contribution Awards" (KCA) designed to recognize staff, students and community members for their significant contribution to education under one of the five Board Goals. In September 2012, the Board approved a new 4-year Strategic Plan which included the introduction of a new Mission Statement and re-visioning of goals and core priorities. As a result of that new plan, Trustees have taken the KCA Awards and morphed them into the "Always Learning Awards". The Board is pleased to announce that nominations for the "Always Learning Awards" formerly the KCA Awards, are now open for 2013.

The new Mission Statement is "Engage, Inspire, Innovate ...Always Learning" and the Strategic Plan states that We will create positive, inclusive learning environments and maximize student outcomes. We will work toward that by valuing our students, our staff, our families and our communities using principles of character, equity and sustainability. The plan will be the primary consideration when someone is nominated for an "Always Learning Award". The Trustees have decided that beginning in 2013 there will be a maximum 10 Awards presented to individuals or groups who have gone above and beyond to engage, inspire and innovate.

Nominations are now being accepted and can be submitted on-line in the form below. The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 15, 2013. The "Always Learning Awards" will be presented on April 3, 2013 along with the Board's Years of Service Recognition at the Seaforth Legion. Page through the document to learn more about the Board's Strategic Plan for 2012-2016 and then complete the nomination form.
