Sustaining Program in a Climate of Declining Enrolment

Laurie-AprilApril Smith, Principal at St. Marys DCVI, Richard Farmer, English and IDC teacher at St. Marys DCVI, and Laurie Craig, Secondary Programming Coordinator presented the Board with a plan involving the Interdisciplinary Courses that puts students in command of their own learning. The program allows for greater flexibility in subject offerings within the IDC.

Strategic Plan Reflection

Trustee Michael Bannerman provided the Strategic Plan reflection focusing on "Always Learning".

Committee of the Whole Open

  • Discussion on types of fund raising for special projects related to new school in North Perth;
  • Discussion on French Immersion and Core French in the district including attrition rates for French Immersion and support of students with special needs, consideration of a survey to check level of interest in a French Immersion program in Huron or other areas of the Board;
  • Policy review
