I am responsible for all public elementary and secondary school sites across Huron and Perth Counties. I look after building renovations alterations, upgrades and repairs to building infrastructure such as roofing, boilers, mechanical & electrical systems, windows and structural. I also look after preventative building maintenance program and the Board’s maintenance team.

I am involved in facilities maintenance in all schools which includes building renovations, on-going day-to-day maintenance and building infrastructure renewal and program facility upgrades.

I am responsible for ensuring that all schools and board facilities are maintained in a fashion that meets all cleanliness and health standards and fosters a positive learning and working environment. I look after the scheduling of custodial services in all buildings and through our Human Resources Department the hiring of custodial staff.

The Health and Safety Committee is made up of employees from across the Board and is active in ensuring and maintaining an environmentally safe and healthy working environment, with help from the EHS department. Community Use of Schools is an initiative that supports access to school space outside of school hours for not-for-profit community groups. Space in the schools can be rented Monday – Friday 4:00 pm – 10:30 pm; Saturday and Sundays 8 am – 10:30 pm.
