HVAC Technician

The Board is accepting applications for a full-time licensed Skilled Tradesperson based out of the Facilities Department in Seaforth, Ontario.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position shall perform installation, maintenance and repair of heating/air conditioning/ventilation systems in a safe and productive manner in schools of the Board.

The successful candidate will demonstrate professional expertise in but not limited to:

  • Diagnosing the cause of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning/ventilation systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacements;
  • Informing management regarding procedures and/or status of work orders;
  • Inspecting HVAC systems and components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance;
  • Installing heating and air conditioning equipment and ventilation systems;
  • Performing routine and preventive maintenance of commercial rooftop heating and cooling
  • Repairing heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air
    handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.);
  • Overseeing start-up and commissioning of building automation systems;
  • Reading and interpreting shop drawings and control schematics;
  • Maintaining service vehicle, tools and equipment in good working order;
  • Participating in meetings, workshops, training and seminars as required;
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven interpersonal skills with customers and team members.

Supply Designated Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Supply Designated ECE candidate: must have a minimum two-year community college Early Childhood Education diploma, proof of current registration with the Ontario College of early Childhood Educators, and recent experience as an ECE working in an Early Learning Centre or Day Care.

Supply Educational Assistant (EA)

Supply EA candidate: will provide physical, behavioural and/or academic support to students in integrated or self-contained settings. Excellent oral and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal and professional skills. College certificate or diploma in Educational Assistant, Child Youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker or related field, or equivalent experience required.

Supply Secretary

Supply Secretary candidate: must be competent in keyboarding and computer literacy; work independently; possess organization and multi-tasking skills; excellent oral and written communication skills. One year college level certificate or diploma in office administration on plus related work experience required.

Supply Technical Resource Assistant (TRA)

Supply Technical Resource Assistant candidate: will maintain the library; troubleshooting common computer hardware/software problems; network support; administrative and clerical tasks; supporting students with the use of technology. One year college level certificate or diploma in computer training plus related work experience required.

Supply Custodian

Supply Custodian candidate: will involve the ability to lift, climb stairs and ladders; knowledge of proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies; experience in handling machinery ie. buffing machine; and mechanical aptitude in the trades. Minimum Grade 12 Diploma required.
