Romeo Public School staff and students got together to collaboratively show their support for one of our major community supporters. Big Brothers/Big Sisters holds their major fund-raiser, Bowl for Kids Sake, each year. The Romeo Roadrunners put together a Romeo bowling team and gathered sponsorships to participate. This has become tradition that all of the students at Romeo look forward to becoming a part of and all ages are included.
Recently 60 students (1/3 of the school population) showed up at Mike’s Bowling Lanes sporting their purple colours and grins from ear to ear. It was an amazing evening where teams students from junior kindergarten to grade 6 came out to join in the laughter and fellowship. It was memorable as well as students were showcasing exciting bowling techniques in an effort to win prizes. At the end of the night students enjoyed pizza and a drink and also some treats to take home. A group of staff participated in a separate bowling evening to show their support for BBBS.
Together, these amazing individuals raised a total of $3456.65 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. What a generous way to show support for this amazing community partnership. Romeo would like to challenge all other schools to get involved in supporting this event in the future!
