Today was the eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day. Every year, autism organizations and schools around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness raising events.
At Seaforth Public School 11 year old student Morgan Mason spoke at a school assembly about what it is like to live with autism and shared with the student body, parents, staff and members of the media his successful fund raising efforts. The assembly and Morgan’s full presentation was also streamed live around the world as part of his efforts to create better awareness of autism.
Here is some of Mason’s story and highlights of the Seaforth Public School Autism Awareness Assembly.
Along with the $10,000 donation from the Brussels Optimist, Morgan raised $1,000 on his own selling cookies, bracelets and other trinkets for the Huron Perth Chapter of Autism Ontario.
