How can you make the most of your gifts? What steps do you need to take to identify and pursue your creative genius? Finding purpose makes you more aware of who you are and honouring the qualities and characteristics that make you uniquely you. This module offers you the opportunity to open your mind to new talents and skills that may not have been unwrapped … yet Creativity is the gift that keeps on giving.
Approximately 100 students from grade 7-10 from across the Board attended the ‘G.I.F.T.S. (Gifted Individuals Focusing on Talents and Skills) learning module on Monday, Dec. 11th at Northwestern Secondary School. The theme of the day was learning new talents and skills to help alleviate stress and anxiety. Throughout the day students attended a variety of different workshops ranging from making gingerbread cookies, Tai Chi, creative movement to technological design.
Students had the opportunity to develop and enhance creative thinking skills, participate in workshops that promote life balance, and explore the benefits of mindfulness practice.
A special thank you to the educators and community members who took time out of their day to lead these workshops and pass on their collective years of knowledge and wisdom.
