People thinking about running for trustee in the upcoming municipal election will have an opportunity to hear from the people currently doing the job. Who better to learn from than the trustees themselves? With that in mind, the Avon Maitland District School Board trustees are holding information nights to explain to the public what they do.
Local Trustee Information Nights:
Trustees are prepared to answer questions like, “How often do you meet?” “Who holds you accountable?” How do you make decisions?” “What is a day in the life of a school board trustee really like?” “Is it a glamorous job?” and many more.
- Tuesday, April 17th at Central Huron Secondary School in the library
- Wednesday, April 18th at Stratford Northwestern Secondary School in the library
- 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
There will be a brief presentation from trustees and the director of education, Dr. Lisa Walsh followed by a question and answer period. The information sessions are open to all.
The Avon Maitland District School Board has nine trustees including a Chair and Vice-Chair. Their work lays the foundation to help students succeed to the best of their abilities. Trustees have demonstrated through their collective efforts a commitment to making a difference for kids.
