Stratford Northwestern Secondary School and Schaeffler Canada Inc. are partnering to provide a school to work transition opportunity through a community connected experience for some senior Manufacturing students.
Each student has the opportunity to participate in a work experience during the Manufacturing class which includes 2.5 hours a day for a week. Students will be partnered with a ‘Setter’, who works on the floor programming machines.
As a true partnership, both Northwestern and Schaeffler experience gains throughout this opportunity. Through the time and resources that Schaeffler is putting into this initiative, the hope for them is to gain access to students who are interested in the career opportunities that are available at Schaeffler.
The Avon Maitland District School Board is fortunate to have strong relationships with community partners who believe in the value of experiential learning and student success.
