Eco Exeter is a group created by Amanda Keller’s grade 9 science students from South Huron District High School (SHDHS) during the 2018/19 school year. Inspired by the work of Blue Bayfield, the students wanted to take action in their community.
The group has made a big impact in the area of reducing single-use plastics in their community. In order to continue the momentum and spread the work even further the group hosted a day of learning and inspiration with other grade 9 science classes from across the Avon Maitland District School Board. Through a series of workshops and guest speakers these students were able to experience first hand what Eco Exeter is all about and become inspired to start similar initiatives in their own communities. #AMDSBisGreen
