For Immediate Release
In order to address needed upgrades to the Stratford Central building, students from Stratford Central and Stratford Northwestern are coming together for the 2019/2020 school year. Stratford Northwestern will be home to all students in grades 7 to 12 during the renovation period.
In order to facilitate a sense of belonging and connectedness, the school will be called “Stratford Secondary and Elementary Schools” for this unique “transition year”. Principal Kevin Mills says: “This transition year will be unique and full of opportunities for students and staff. We are excited about welcoming Stratford Central students to Northwestern and we hope that a generic name for this upcoming school year, will help students and staff feel more welcome.”
A decision about the future of the two schools has not been made as the School Board continues to await Ministry approval on moving forward with a decision.
Construction began on June 21st, targeting a completion date of September 2020.
